They choose the slab from a stack. Mine arrived all dark colored one the "good" side. It is not interesting such as varying in colors or wood grain that stood out. I even emailed them, and the response should have warned me to cancel the order. They pre-drilled holes (which I did NOT want) on the side I would have chosen upwards (visible) for a table top. Only ONE side was a live cut. Beware before ordering, Call and ask the Questions for item specifications that are not disclosed in the description.

The table top shipped much faster than expected. Packaging was very robust along the edges...but the shipping company was more than up to the challenge to tear it up. The edges did have a thicker black rubberlike foam pad that did leave a decent patch of sticky glue on the table. There was ZERO damage on any edge of the table top even though the box was busted up pretty good. The top and bottom surface packaging was just the outer box and a sheet of foam on the wood. The box had a healthy gouge in it that made contact with and damaged the wood face. FORTUNATELY, the damage was on the bottom face....no harm no foul there. As far as item quality, I've yet to put the legs on but it is a very heavy and solid top. There are some minor surface finish issues...possibly with handling after the top coat was applied.
I could not be more pleased with this company and this transaction. I bought a beautiful desk earlier this year. Unfortunately, I then moved, and the desk top was irreparably damaged by the movers. I contacted the vendor on a Thursday, and a new top was delivered from the far west to Indianapolis by SATURDAY! My daughter helped to install it, and I'm in business again! The item I received was not like what was advertised. The “slab” consists of 6 irregularly conjoined strips of wood.
I was under the impression that holes would be drilled upon request. I now have the extra work of filling holes I did not request before marking and drilling holes for the base I intend to use.
I guess as they say, “You get what you pay for”

The slab I received was exactly as described on the website. Shipping took about a week but arrived exactly on time. Packaging was done well and did a good job of protecting the slab (there were a couple of dents in the box but no damage to the slab).

I received the table top super quickly! When it arrived, it was well packaged with plenty of padding and wrapping. I’m using it for a desk top and it’s exactly what I’m looking for. Dimensions are great and the live edge looks really nice! The live edge looks a bit manufactured and could have looked more natural, but overall I’m extremely satisfied. The quality and color of the stain looks great, too. Comes with pre-drilled holes that I didn’t need, but they didn’t get in the way of the holes I needed to drill.
The wood is gorgeous and very nicely finished. Arrived quickly and came well packed - corners were double-reinforced, the edges were protected by a foam strip that went all the way around, and the whole thing sat in a plastic wrap within a sturdy cardboard box. Seller was communicative, even though I didn’t reach out they kept me updated on the shipping date etc. Very happy with the purchase.

Beautiful piece of wood! It arrived quickly. I made a tv table with it. It's planed, sanded, and sealed, so all I had to do is attach legs. Very convenient as I don't currently have a woodworking space. I would order from this company again.

The slab is uneven (surface not side) and thicker on one side so one of my legs is shorter and the table is wobbling. Holes were not predrilled semi distant so we had to measure.

I purchased 2 of these for my home audio equipment, but the live edges that face the front look completely different. One is plain without any wood grain while the other shows the grain of half of it. I like the looks of the one that shows the wood grain, but the other plain one makes the whole thing look cheap

Beautiful desk, legs were easy to affix with pilot holes and tools provided. Packaged well; was nervous when top arrived a bit beat up, but whatever happened in shipping didn't get through all the layers of protective packaging. Shipped quickly and arrived as pictured; would purchase here again.

Item is awesome! Arrived 2 days sooner than expected, so super fasting shipping! Looks amazing on my standing desk frame. Price was the best I found, especially for the quality… if I had to pick 1 thing to complain about, it would be that it is TOO NICE of a desktop! As a result, I had to spend more money because my wife “made me” order 2 more tops today to redo her office AND asks when the smaller end table tops will be available (wants 3 of those too). It's nice a nice walnut slab, but there are a few dings in it and spots on the distance edge opposite the live edge that did not receive a thorough application of finish. There are also noticeable bumpy areas (but still flat) across the board. That is most likely natural and does not impede writing or drawing or anything else. The board IS PREDRILLED and they CANNOT CHANGE it. I asked and they still couldn't predrill. I was told their holes provide a good template, but none worked for the legs I bought from a separate vendor. Overall it's beautiful and I'm satisfied with it. I don't like to make a fuss about returning items, but with something this important I would send it back. I like it and really like the look of the finish and the live edge is nice. Any imperfections = wabi-sabi. 9.5/10 stars

It should say in the title that it is not a solid piece of wood. It is particleboard with a wood exterior. It looks ok, put you definitely cannot sand this and refinish it down the road.

Subtracting one star for misrepresenting table top is pre drilled for their table legs, so the table only has one usable side - no choice of side, wood figuring preference. Subtracting more stars for the indifference reply to my complaint, of the non existent description of drill holes, with me just receiving a reply explaining back to me what I learned after I received the table top. I noticed other negative reviews for two piece tops possibly not clearly represented - this is an online store! Buyer beware, your miIeage may vary.

Received the table top, it's a great solid piece of furniture. I was initially confused about the holes drilled in the underside, but I suppose that must be if you wanted to use their hardware. Mildly annoying to have the unnecessary holes drilled in, but that's a nitpick and all in all seems great!
